LETTER GRADE DESCRIPTION

A The student demonstrates excellent or outstanding performance in relation to expected learning outcomes for the course or subject and grade.

B The student demonstrates very good performance in relation to expected learning outcomes for the course or subject and grade.

C+ The student demonstrates good performance in relation to expected learning outcomes for the course or subject and grade.

C The student demonstrates satisfactory performance in relation to expected learning outcomes for the course or subject and grade.

C- The student demonstrates minimally acceptable performance in relation to excepted learning outcomes for the course or subject and grade.

I Incomplete. The student is making progress, but it has been determined that additional time is required to meet the expected learning outcomes for the course or is making work necessary for evaluation. Guidelines for assigning an “I” must be followed. Expectations and time lines must be attached for each assigned I.

F Failed or Failing. The student has not demonstrated, or is not demonstrating, the minimally acceptable performance in relation to the expected learning outcomes for the course. “Failed” may only be used as a final grade if an ‘I’ has been previously assigned.

SG The student is being granted credit foe the course by the administration.

HONOUR ROLL

  1. To be eligible for the Achievement Honour Roll a student must achieve at least an 80% average, calculated on all subjects taken during the semester.

      • a grade of C-, I or F eliminates a student from Achievement Honour Roll. However, I grades can be changed within the first 10 days from date the report card is issued. An appropriate change within the allotted time will qualify a student for Achievement Honour Roll.

      • Minimum of three courses per semester are required to qualify for Achievement Honour Roll. Honour Roll for achievement status will be based on term marks.

      • All course that are taken as part of school program are included in the calculation.

  1. To be eligible for Effort Honour Roll a student must receive a “G” in all courses taken.

  2. Principal’s List – Students who attain Achievement and Effort Honour Roll status for each of the first three terms (report card terms) will be recognized on the Principal’s List.
